Athletics Update - November 2

Before  providing the details for this week, I want to say thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to work towards starting high school athletics back up here in Ashe County.  There are still many questions that remain, however here are some important updates listed below as we start the month of November.  As always, this information is subject to change at any time.  I will be presenting some information at tonight's Ashe County Schools Board of Education meeting.  Click here to access the meeting beginning at 6:00pm on November 2nd.  

1. (Men and Women's) Cross Country and Volleyball are set to begin their official seasons this Thursday, November 5th after school.  In order to participate or tryout, you must have the following:

  1. Family ID Registration Completed and Approved
  2. Current Physical on file
  3. Completed COVID Pre-Screening Form

 

If you plan to play either sport and have not yet contacted that sport's head coach to make them aware of your interest, please do so immediately by clicking on their name below.

2.  Our next sport Men and Women's Swimming is set to begin Monday, November 30th.  Please contact Coach Koontz for more information.

3.  The mandatory NCHSAA Parent Athlete meeting for all student athletes planning to participate in Cross Country, Swimming, and Volleyball is now scheduled for this Wednesday, November 4th at 7pm.  This will be a virtual Zoom meeting.  To register, please click on this link.  

4.  There will be no conditioning activities the week of November 2 or November 23.
